    Default Total Excellium Petrol Fuel

With special regards to Petrol, has anybody tried this yet and what are your thoughts. My local Shell station has closed, the nearest is 5 miles away but teh Total one is 1 mile away. Total are claiming it is like a Optimax copy at 97 ron ( the European websites claim theirs to be 98 ron).

My petrol Signum runs like a dream on Optimax, it would be handy for me if this Excellium fuel is just as good.

no real difference when i ran the GSi on it for 3 months..just gone back to standard U/L..

it wasn't even price..Fuelcard makes it just down to personal choice..it seemed silly paying the extra..

Never even heard of it! Don't really pass a Total station in my travels so probably why I've never seen it.

Interesting that you found Optimax so good in your 2.2. I tried it for a bit in my 2.0T and thought it was cr*p. I tell you what I have been impressed with. My local Tesco started selling that 99 RON stuff, and my remapped engine does like that a lot. And it's a bit cheaper than other SULs. I was using Esso SUL before, but now use the Tesco stuff.

if i get caught for fuel then i'll feed it the tesco 99 SUL as well..that makes it sharper ..

but yet again.. not impressed with Total SUL..and they're only round the corner..

My car loves Tesco 99RON, my local used to do the 97 but they have replaced it with 99 at the same price. Had to fill up with Esso SUL yesterday and there's a definate drop off in throttle sharpness.
