Default Genuine Vauxhall Single DIN Facia Adapter - Which Colour??

    Hi Guys,

I collect my shiny new Veccy on Wednesday and intend to go straight to my local Vauxhall dealer for some insignia washer jets and a facia adapter for my head unit.

Just one question though, how do I determine which colour I need? Can Vx do this from my chassis number, is it marked somewhere on the vehicle, or should the guys on the part desk be able to take a look and tell me?

    Thanks

    Dan

    Cheers for that!

Probably should've given more details than "Veccy" though

She's a 55 Plate 1.9CDTI (150) SRI in some kind of silver (I was too excited to notice those little details when I went to the dealers!).

Easy way to find out, is pull out the radio, and on the back should be a tbig white sticker with all the headunit deatails on it...there should be a two letter colour code on the label...this is not the Alpha Code, which is printed elsewhere on the label.

On my CD30, it gives the letters CC, and says something like charcoal .....right next to the printed letters.
Hence my dash is the charcoal grey colour...

    Other variations are...
    Piano Black,
    Bright Silver
and Gun-metal Grey, which has a brownish tint to it.

    Thanks Rob,

One further question, can I use my Ford keys to remove the head unit or will I have to buy a set of Vauxhall ones?

They appear to look similar and I begrudge forking out for another set if I don't have to!

    Thanks

    Dan

All Vectra radios use double din keys...I assume your ford keys are single din.

I just use 4 allen keys of a small enough size, or 4 pop-rivets or 4 metal pins / sticks / rods of at least 2" (5cm) long and about 1/8" (3.3mm ish) diameter.

    insert all 4 rods.
    press outward at the ends
    pull out the radio,
may need to do the rods on one side at a time, and use a plastic spatular to lever out, or pull on the central control knob to pull the whole radio out.
