    Don't think its turbo because when the car is on boost it runs fine, and there doesnt seem to be any blue smoke as if the turbo bearings are gone just diesel smoke.

    Did some digging through my service invoices and found that the car previously displayed fault codes P0180 fuel temp sensor and P0190 Fuel rail pressure sensor, but dont think it's related as when those codes where got the car used to cut out throwing up an em light and then churn and churn to start again, but hasnt done it since.

    The other thing i noticed was that vx had done a temporary repair (insulating tape) to the vacuum pipe that goes between the turbo wastegate solenoid to the engine. I took this off and the pipe was split and very thin at the bend. The pipe is two diffrent internal diameter's at both ends so think this is gona be a dealer only sorta thing. Hopefully this might get rid of some of my problems, worth checking if anyone has similar issues

    My mates facelift has the exact same issues, but when we take off the EGR, or fiddle around it runs perfect for about a day then goes back to misfiring and being sluggish - we think injectors, but will look for any deterioration on any pipes.

    hello dan would you get a fault code with blocked injecters .

    I don't know, I wouldn't think so if one is only slightly blocked (but enough to cause issue) - my mates SRi does have any EML.

    What we will probably do is completely block off the EGR valve (I know this will bring up an EML - but will run fine) and see how that is for a week, if its the same, they we can defo rule out the EGR (even though his is new, you can never tell).

    Anyone any ideas? At this stage im thinking vacum pipe, small split in intercooler pipe, or injectors with poor spray pattern??
    geoff my car is doing the same im gonna have to get it looked at soon its doing my head in also

    dan pick my car up in morning from main dealers ,they've supposed to have fixed it,(same problem as yeah mate) pound to a peice of s**t they have'nt. but and its a big but, if it is fixed ill pass on what they've done exactly ,it mite help you and your mate solve your problem ..

    Car is now running alot better with the new egr and vacuum pipe repaired, it seems to accelerate better through the gears

    The only problems now are:

    • Bad smoke/rough idle when cold


    • Slight missfire noticible

    Would an injector leaking into the cylinder when the car is swithced off be causing my problems, possibly causing the missfire because of bad fuelling through the same injector?

    what a joke picked car up from dealers this morning still not sorted its been more than two months since my car has been running rite.
    ive seriously lost all faith in this car dont know what to do next ...

    I know its a simple thing, but have you given it a proper good thrash and see if it makes any difference, many times this has smoothed things out, plus its fun
