    Default Estate Towbars

I'm thinking of hetting a towbar fitted to my 05 plate estate, but am a bit unsure what type to go for?!

It's really only going to be used for a bike rack and possibly a trailer (when I get round to making it)...

Any useful info would be... useful

Depends if you want to use the bike rack and the trailer at the same time mate. If they were never to be used at the same time then a fixed swan neck or removable towbar would be perfect. If you were to want to tow the trailer and have the bikes then you'd need a fixed 2 bolt flange bar

Sounds like a fixed towbar would be ideal... best place to get one, and would I need a Vectra specific wiring kit?

For a fixed one try here http://www.towequipe.co.uk/

As for electrics the VX kit is about 45quid (might need tech 2) but it is a far simpler system to install

I'm guessing these are a DIY fit?

Wow - only £150 for the towbar and the specific wiring kit!

Towequipe also trade on ebay under the username "towbarman01", usually they are alot cheaper than buying from them direct and there customer service is top quality

That's where I got mine from, Witter Detachable with Specific wiring for £210 all in, and as said, service is second to none.

I bought a Towequipe fixes towbar for my first Vectra C, VERY easy to fit, but I used the Vauxhall plug in electrics like John mentioned, they are about £50 now.
