    Default i'm seeing flashing lights!!

    Hi folks,

Looking for a bit of advice, i recently bought an 07 plate vectra last week and when driving into work this morning when i was indicating the dash board was lighting up like a cheap christmas tree with various warning light coming on.

i also noticed it happens when you switch on the side light, fogs, hazards or when the door is open?

it is still under manufacturers warranty, however the stealers cant look at it until Friday?!?

i'm setting off on a 500 mile round trip tomorrow and was wondering if it will be ok to carry on as planned with the vectra? it looks to me like a wiring/loose connection problem and its not affecting the performance, just doing my nut in!!

    Any advice would be appreciated!

Sounds like it could be the CIM, you may find that shortly ALL your instruments die. I don't think it would be sensible to drive around like that...

Thanks for that! I thought as much, looks like an argument with the dealer is on the cards today! He started to throw a strop when i mentioned it was under warranty still and i wasn't paying the £60 odd for the diagnostic check as i only bought the car there last week!!

Simple then, go to another dealer! If it's under manufacturers warranty then ANY dealer can do the work. They get paid from head office for it, so it's worth "rewarding" the good dealers by going there.

If the guy is refusing work, he's just an idiot, plain and simple.

I was thinking that too! i suppose the only thing that keeping me with that dealership is they have agreed to replace the worn wiper blade on the back! i reckon I should just bite the bullet!

I would. my supplying dealer was AWFUL, so have been using York Ward and Rowlatt instead, and so far they've replaced two fuel pumps, three fuel regulators, my CD70, two drivers door modules and a set of relays, all under warranty. That's probably got them a couple of K's in labour from head office, and i'd much rather they have it than the shower of *******s in corby.

Its the dreaded Arnold Clark! Unfortunately they firmly have the folk of the west of Scotland by the balls! Nearest alternative garage to me is a good 20 mins drive away!!

My -closest- is 20 mins away, and that's the one i won't use

Worth the extra time to know that both you and your car will be treated properly.

Very Very wise to get the best to sort your car out sod giving it to people who dont really care about the customers. Always look around for the best dealer in your local area.
