confused 3.2 V6 remap, can it be done ???????

    Hi Guys

As you may have read I am looking to buy a 3.2V6 and was just wondering if these can be remapped, I know all Turbo engine cars can be done and some N/A cars but was wondering if the 3.2 can be done, if so how much does it cost and what performance figures are like. I have done a search on google but can't find much about them

Big Phil on here has his GSI remapped, If My memory is correct. But I don,t think you will get much more than about 25 bhp more. These 3.2 engines don,t seem to remap too well.

They actually re-map very well indeed. Non turbo cars usually see an average of 8-10bhp when re-mapped as you can't do an awful lot compared to a turbocharged car (Petrol od Diesel).

The 3.2 engine at 208bhp is held back by the map Opel/Vauxhall wrote for it. The EDS map is very good for the 3.2 and you can see the good side of 230bhp with it.

That is good news then. I have heard fo some " not very good" remaps. But they must have not been done to the same standard then. Not a bad increas with an EDS remap then. I wonder how much they charge.

I looked at getting mine done, still will do one day but need some money first!

It's a few hundred quid, Regal's site say £350 inc VAT but they're a little far from me ... one day!

Approx increase to 235bhp according to them which I think is a good increase for the money.

Thanks for that guys, I will def think about it, what do you think best then? 3.2V6 with remap or 3.0 TDI with remap for performance, cruising motorways overall basically, which would you go for and why?

most ppl avoid remapping the 3.0 as it causes to many issues .
as for remapping the 3.2 apart from mavericks input ive always been told like Ed that it is pretty pointless for the cost and gains .
The best option I think is the 2.oT cheaper road tax and more bhp gains .
some getting a wapping 242bhp...hope that helps

Very good point made by Soulman, I'd go for the 2.0T, a simple stage one re-map will give it about the same bhp as the standard 3.2, but with loads more torque.

A very very good point, unless you want the sound of a v6 take one out for a test drive
