    Default 1.9cdti Turbo Tips Required.

My Turbo could be coming to the end of its life.

What is the best option - not looking at keeping car for more than 24 months.

Scrappy - seen plenty around - shop for one off a newer veccy (least milage the better)?
    Ebay - a few there.
Turbo dealer - New or Exchange unit.

What prices should I be looking at (1.9cdti 150 05 plate)

Quotes so far range from 550+vat for new, and refurb £300 + vat.

If you can afford it and your keeping car either refurbed or new is a good option but then again you may get a low mileage one from scrappy for a lot less

Problem with scrappy is getting one that has come from a g/tee low mileage car.

Anyone any ideas how much a refurb costs?

You tried turbo technics? Think they do refurbed ones etc, and in some instances can actually fix your exisiting one.

If your turbo is on the way out, you dont want to be driving on it for too long, as if it lets go, it can send all sorts of swarf straight into the engine, causing catastrophic damage

Can I get to the turbo from top of engine to check pipes etc? Don't have axle stands or ramp.

Also what kit is required to replace turbo ie seals etc?
