Take it off.
Throttle body is probly blocked up as well.
how easy is that mate
Not very, I replaced mine as the swirls were knackered but the old one had about 10mm of crud all round the inside.
should i have 2 gakets or 1 when i remove the egr valve doh
2, ONE SQUARE I OVAL. although the square one tands to stick on the egr or the manifold and can be missed. the oval one can sometimes drop down into the engine bay if it was'nt noticed when you took it apart, pic here.

mine only had 1 the oval one guess best go to dealers for the square 1.just built it back up it runs ok engine management light came up a couple of times could that be the missing gasket
cleaned the egr valve up fully put back in but after clearing fault then running engine up after 2-3mins same fault code comes up any idea what i should try next or is it just fit a new egr valve.the old one is nice and clean now and the valve is free.but it does not have a gasket do you think that could be the problem now
cheers
Is the linkage connected properly & moving moving ok?
