    Default left foot rest

Does anyone know how to remove the plastic left foot rest? It appears to pull free apart from a bolt at the top right hand side which has a round head so am not sure how to undo it? Reason to remove is there appears to be some sort of black coloured chewing gum stuck to it which I would like to remove without damaging the plastic but it's awkward in situ.

Btw, someone was asking about whether Signum mats fit Vectras in another thread. Well all four of mine have Signum RHD written on the label underneath and they all appear to fit perfectly even in the back footwells (mine's a Vectra btw).

The round headed 'bolt' is just a pin that is held in location by the plastic on the small end of the pin. I removed mine because the bottom part was loose, which I found was because the metal bracket had bent. Also removed so I could fit brushed stainless plate on top. The bottom part is held into the bracket by lugs on the footrest.

Thanks for the reply. So how do you remove the pin? Don't want to break anything.

Why would you want to remove it?

Sorry can't get any more plates, it was a one-off favour.

I used a pair of pliers & screwdriver to prise it out, the plastic of the footrest bends in slightly and locates in a groove in the pin. All I did once the footrest was out was to squeeze the plastic together to make it tight again on pin.

Thanks Ian. I'm still not 100% clear how it works but will have a go tonight.

Thanks Ian, your advice on how to remove it was spot on. Here's some pics of it off for anyone who is interested. Should be self explanitory.
