So the latter part of last year and the recent weeks have seen my vec fall victim to;
a) not being looked after properly
and
b) two accidents.
The first involved the bumper being ******ed, still waiting for that to be sorted, and two days ago, a truck decided to take her wing mirror and f*** it six ways from sunday. Luckily this time had witness etc, so not gonna be a problem (driver was on his phone!).
Anywhos, insurance deliver me a hire car, the first one they sent was a 57 Plate Mazda 3 Sport. Woooo i though, it had all the bells and whistles! Bose speakers, cruise control, xenons, headlight washers, was very comfy to drive. It was FUN....untill i realised there was a nail in each of the back tyres, so I called up to inform the company, they sent another car out to replace it....
Up turns the man in a 57 Plate VW Passat Saloon 2.0 TDI. OMG is all i can say, this thing is beautiful, runs like a dream, super comfy, its just...Fun. (and the boot auto opens, which i thought was cool ).
The though of my vec coming back repaired doesnt actually fill me with joy, like the first time i got in and drove it, It currently needs New Front Pads & Discs, 02 sensor front and back, service (done oil etc but needs fuel filter pollen filter air filter) it also needs a good machine polish to remove some of the more obvious blemishes. And an alloy refurb.
So, what to do? Anyone else ever lost interest/fun in there motor? Do i cut my losses and trade her in? Or fix her up, stick a new grill on/new alloys and try to get it back? Its an 05 Club 1.8 if it aids anyone!
