Unhappy RANT: Talk Talk - Oh dear, not good, any advice?

If it looks too good to be true then there's a catch.

About a month and a half ago, I started looking for an alternative to Virgin Media and came across Talk Talk, just as good a service and even better but less than half the price, duly went through the we'll promise you the earth speil and lie and agreed for prelimenary sign up after I'd asked a few questions over the telephone.

Anyway, I got first letter and read the terms and conditions, they were somewhat ambigous and contradicted what I'd been told, so a few alarm bells started to ring in the distance.

So I called up about these ambiguities and got told, Oh their old T & C 's and what you were told is correct, no need for it in writing!!!.

Those alarm bells got louder, so I started digging around broadband speed sites and found that the speed I was quoted for my address was no where near what I was told, Those bells were begining to get insistent.

So, I thought, lets put the customer service to the test and get a few simple technical answers.

Oh dear, after having no joy with India (call centre) and yet more empty promises followed by blatant lies I cancelled any installation and contract with Talk Talk, all within the first week after the initial phone call as clearly stated that I had the right to do.

    So what happened next?

I got a letter confirming that my new line would be installed the following fortnight away.
Errrmmm, I distinctly remember cancelling!, so I called again

Ah yes sir, sorry, everything has been cancelled but the installations department had not been informed. No need to worry, nothing more will happen.

Two weeks later a call from BT who want to install my new phone line!. No chance i tell them and then call Talk Talk. Ah yes sir, we thought we might persuade you to stay. But we will definately cancel everything now.

A few days later a sms Welcome to Talk Talk.... your new number is ....

    Arrrrghhh

More calls, Ah yes sir, that's just an automated system, your account is in the process of being cancelled, we will e-mail you confirmation.

Do you think I got the confirmation ???

Today a Welcome pack arrives with a Direct Debit notification!!!
Cancelled the DD with my bank and called Talk Talk yet again!!!.
After a trip round India and the UK, I end up in Scotland where I get told that my account has never been cancelled neither has anything ever been logged as to me having called Talk Talk.

Again I have been assured everything has now been cancelled.

Guess what, I don't trust them one bit!.

What can I do to resolve this as I'm getting mad and worried.

Chocki, PM me your details and any account details you'd been allocated and I'll make sure it gets to the right people for you. I don't work in customer services so can't help you directly, but I do work for Talk Talk and will chuck it at the customer services managers for you.
