Safely back from hols

Well, here I am back from my week in Scotland, and it was flippin' brilliant.
The cottage was in the middle of nowhere -in fact, I think you'd have to drive some distance to get to nowhere from there.........
We had a new Astra Club as our hire car, and it wasn't bad at all, once I remembered that you need to thrash a petrol car, not just change up at 2,000 revs! the roads up there are fantastic -empty, loads of lovely bends and twisty bits.
We did lots of walking, a couple of distillery tours and had a wander into Balmoral. I'm now thoroughly relaxed and happy to be back at work (yeah, right!) I've also got a couple of nice bottles of single malt in the sideboard.

Glad you had a great time mate. There is not a lot better than ragging a round fantastic roads............in a hire car!! Nothing goes faster I find.

Glad you enjoyed sunny Scotland mate, Balmoral is just a stones throw from me, did you catch the thunder and lightning Sunday? Balmoral is on North Desside road, very windy and fast stretches ....

We came back on Saturday, so had fantastic weather right up until it rained on Friday.
We were staying near Tomintoul, so had to use the A939. What a road! you folks don't have many roads up there, but the ones you have are fantastic. I wouldn't fancy 'em in January, though.......
