    Default USB fitting

I noticed some people have seemed to take a split from the vx unit and put a USB in the glovebox. I tried 2 car audio places in Sunderland and they said it cant be done and that I have to get the faceplate and fit the stereo properly which will result in losing the steering control.

Is this the case and if not can anyone suggest where to get one fitted (or someone local on the site who might help).

    Thank you

its a usb port I have seen people wire them from the stereo through to the glove box and then you can plug a memory stick in with all your music on.

    As per your other post....

You can get the adapter for a sony HU so the OE screen and steering wheel controls still work.

I meant more is there anywhere that can do this for me since car audio places wont do it and i dont know how to do it myself hence my asking if anyone could suggest somewhere that might help. I'd rather keep the standard audio and just fit a usb somewhere rather than as i planned in my other post to replace the stereo system. When I mentioned above i perhaps should have more clearly stated 'is it correct that a split cannot be taken from the original stereo'.
