Default Audi 1.8T Quattro....whats it packing?

What kinda power is a 54 plate 1.8T Quattro putting down?

The Audi lit the fuse out of the Barnton along a 1/2 mile straight as wee came out of the 30mph zone into a 60. Vec held onto it all the way up to a round-a-bout and if anything reeled it in at the outset. Roads were soaking wet.

    Just curious.

PS. At the round-a-bout he jumped a good 150-200yds. Have NEVER seen a car corner that quickly, in the wet, without even a twitch. Not fair...am jealous. Phenomenal road holding. Bloke just grinned in his mirror when I pulled up to the back of him at the Maybury lights. Hats off to quattro.

    When are we getting 4x4.!??

1.8T Quattro puts down around 163bhp in standard form matey, but if it's re-mapped you could be talking over 200bhp. And yes, with the All Wheel Drive quattro system he will have the edge over most cars.

I assume it was an A4 given it was a 1.8T Quattro?

They're 'only' 160bhp, but with the four wheel drive it'll stick to the road like glue - very impressive are the Quattros on the corners! On the straight you'd probably give him more of a run for his money.

Edit: and as Alex said, if it is remapped (BSR do the same thing for the Audi that I have for example) then it'll be around 200bhp and he'll be leaving you for dust even on the straights!

jeez - that's a pretty heavy car! how heavy would a 3.0 diesel 4x4 be?!?

they're only insurance group 14?!? that's pretty good!!

and what does "extra urban" mean??! driving downhill? 39 mpg is pretty damn good even for motorway mileage.

i thought it'd be quicker to 62 mph than 9 secs.

    Depends which version it is.

There is 4 version of the 1.8TT

150, 180, 210 & 225. My mate has the 225 and it is very quick!!

Didn't read the quattro bit, the 150 isn't quattro the others are. all AFAIK.

I don't think it was a TT matey.

'Only' 160bhp. Damn....I was feeling quite chuffed with myself aswell.!!

Just to confirm...it was an A4 1.8T Quattro. Like I said...Vec was gaining on the Audi slowly on the straight....come the corners tho the quattro was on rails and if I had grip like that in the DRY, I'd be a VERY happy laddie.

    How do Willie...

I've got a CR1 tuning module on mine....one of the plug n play type. Got it for a snip of eBay last year. Its all good as far as I'm concerned. Power is up, fuel consumption is unaffected on the normal around the doors stuff. Getting 540-570 to a tank before the guage starts flashing at me. As for the power its putting out now...well its a best guess going by other guys on here who've had them on a rolling road.

....and you're right...Edinburgh every day from Dunfermline.

PS get into the tuning section...theres mountains of info and friendly 'banter' on the pros and cons between one box or an other. Remaps seem to be the weapon of choice if you're feeling flush.
