    Default ****** car. Service today

Well car went in for service today, expecting everything to be hunky dory, seeing as it only went in for it's MOT 3 weeks ago.

Service has been done, but they have found the following.
    Broken rear spring
Swirl valve bar has become unattached

Costs for this wait for it

    Replace 1 rear spring £220
Replace Swirl valve kit, including inlet manifold etc £740 inc vat

I haven't noticed any loss in power or anything so my solution is this

Carry out the £1 washer fix tonight to make sure nothing major happens and maybe get fixed in the future

Just ordered a set of Eibach lowering springs from Eibach for £149

Saving money all over and improving the look of the car

Now as always there will be lots of pics to follow, as i now have quite a few jobs to do

Carry out the swirl bar mod
    Fit lowering springs
Fit HID kit & Mtec side light bulbs

Why does everything always come at once

But at least we have an alternative to paying main dealer prices for the work - doing it ourselves, using cheaper parts that are sometime better quality than the OEM parts.

Why did they replace just one spring, was it to keep cost down for you? always feel that both springs should be changed on one axle, but that's just my opinion !!

I know its a bit of "The heat from the fire that burned down your house means that the tomatoes in your greenhouse are HUGE" but isn't that a REALLY good price for that?

    I thought that it was £1000 - £1200.
