    Default Code P1481-P1482-P1483

Hi,i have these 3 codes stored,P1481-P1482-P1483,all 3 are fan control 1,2 and 3,open circuit, and the spanner light is on.
I have searched on here and using google.
I have so far, changed the ecm, which sits between the 2 fans.
Taken off both plugs on the engine ecu,the one under the drivers side arch liner, and sprayed them both with wd40.
    Replaced the temperature sensor.
Checked every fuse and relay i can see on the car, taken them all out,one at a time and replaced them again, and i have had the front bumper off to check the wiring looms for any breaks.
Taken the fuse box out and spray wd40 in that as well
I have put power to the fans, and they spin up fine.
I have activated the 3 control relays in the ecm using opcom,But still the spanner light stays on and the fans don't kick in when up to temperature,i guess about 90 c.
I've tested the power at the ecm plug, and they all read 12v,but it seems like something isn't switching the 3 thin wires to earth, which should come from the engine ecu,but that would need a signal to tell it to switch them.
Is there anything else i could try, that i may have missed ?

What readings does your temperature gauge give when the engine has been running for a while?

A Google search implies that these codes are caused by problems with the wiring for the fans.

It seems to fluctuate Jezzy,i changed the temperature sensor, should i have put a whole thermostat housing on instead ?
I didn't think it would have made a difference,as when the temperature gets up to 90 c or slightly above(when i tried it for test purposes),the cooling fan doesn't kick in.

What are you using to read the codes? If your not using op-com maybe a member around your area could plug in there op-com and do a test on each of the fans and have a look at what the sensors are saying.

Check wiring which runs near the nearside wing, think they can chafe through. Had this problem before with Kman's car and had to run seperate cables to repair it
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

Morning all. Is the writing for this handy enough to get to. Having this portion also, but mainly in damp wet weather, which leads me to believe its the writing chafed through.
