Thread: Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Default Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Just got my vectra back after timing chain and clutch replacement (ouch) whilst been fixed mechanic noticed 3 broken springs (rotherham and sheffield roads!!!) so replaced all 4. Now the vectra looks like a 4x4 and sits way higher!!! Question........ if i fit lowering springs like these......

    is that all i need to change ie the springs or do i need to replace struts etc etc i need car to be safe as wife uses it for transporting our kids so MUST be safe any help advice would be cool cheers Ade

    As yours is an sri i'm guessing the garage put the wrong, ie standard, vec springs on. Have a word with them, they *should* replace them with the correct lowered sri springs free of charge.

    It could be that they are the wrong springs or it could be as the springs are just fresh on, they will take a couple of weeks to settle down a bit.

    With regards to the lowering springs you can put -30's on an sri with no problems or other modifications

    sheffield roads must be the worst,rotherham roads are a dream compared to the pot hole city of sheffiled.

    Go to garage and get part number of the springs and check they are correct Sri ones

    You can put -45's on SRi shocks with no problems, as with all lowering springs, they will show up any faultering standard shock absorber so they would need to be in decent nick anyway.

    Thanks Guys for the replys, garage has agreed and to be fair pointed out when collected that they thought it had been supplied with incorrect springs (not into the monster truck look) are the spax a good spring ? Also need x4 tyres looking at toyo t1r's any thoughts welcome!
