    Default tyre size change

    Hi guys
    i have 215/50/17 all round and the fronts are due to be replaced with in a month or two. i was thinking of upping the width size on the back but unsure how wide i can go and not looking to silly.

    225/45/17 will fit nicely, although I believe nutron fitted 235's - just!

    Thanks thats what i was hoping for 225 not to sure with the 45 for every day use.

    The "45" profile is a percentage of the tyres width, not a set height, so its actually very similar to a 215/50 profile tyre.

    See a previous post of mine showing 215/50/17's (NCT5) on the rear, and 225/45/17's (Rainsports) on the front

    not bein a tyre expert ,i want to ask a question and im will probably sound stupid.

    i got 215/50/17 ok
    now some ppl have said that you can fit 224/45/17 with HARDLY any difference .
    hardly is the key word in the fact that there IS a difference then ,
    so can i ask what is the difference .
    i thought that 45s are 5mm smaller than 50s on the side wall
    yes no?????

    help and advise wud be gr8

    No, if you read the above posts and try the calc that has been put up you would see its a ratio of the width. Overall its 13mm difference in diameter (you really cannot see it), and yes before you ask, the 225's are an alternative size for the vec/siggy as in the hand book.
