Thumbs up Door Mirrors 1st try!

so when i bought my veccy the door mirrors as well as other parts had the worst repair job ever.... see pics>>> so i thought i'd have a go at respraying them and doing a decent job, never done it before but first time for everything!

    How they started as:

did a good sanding down to get it nice and smooth then primed:

sanded down again and did about 3/4 layers of primer (unsure but did it till i felt sure it was enough)

    then did my first coat:

4 coats later and 24 hours later I primed it and finito!

im pretty chuffed with it..... passenger side cover has been more of a pain in the back! but patience is a virtue!!

    Cheers!

As above, put on several coats of clear lacquer, let it harden for several days, then use liquid cutting compound on it, polish it with normal polish, and it'll look like new.

Just noticed that the "before" pic is from the N/S, and all the after pics are from the O/S mirror housing. Smoke and mirrors I reckon......

You still need to cut it, or it won't look as glossy as the factory paint.
