Default Went for another drive in My Insignia......

I went to Marshall's today to pay for the car and asked for another drive.

Had a good one as well and I was thinking that this 'feels' almost as quick as my Signum when it's running the re-map. I thought surely not.

So when I got home, I looked at the figures in the brochures.

    Signum Design 1.9 CDTi 150 - 0-60 in 9.5 seconds

    Insignia 2.0 CDTi 160 Auto - 0-60 in 9.0 seconds

So half a second quicker to 60, so yes it looks like it is nearly quick even when the Signum is re-mapped.

I say this as I very much doubt that in REAL terms that half a second will have been taken off the Signum when re-mapped.

    What do you think?

i think half a second isnt difficult to take off with extra torque and BHP so i would imagen its about the same as its 160 bhp and not 150 to start with

AAMOI Maverick, what does the brochure say for the 0-60 times for the manual version. ?

9 secs does sound quite decent to me, Dont forget too, Insignia's are quite a heavy car so not bad at all IMO... isnt the manual a touch slower time. ?

Personally I always felt as though my 150 vec-c was a touch faster, but obviously my imagination.

    2.0 CDTi 160 Manual 0-60 8.9 secs (Hatch)
    2.0 CDTi 160 Auto 0-60 9.0 secs (Hatch)

The auto box's on the Insignia are far better than Vectra.

Weight is not really an issue as they alter gear ratios to compensate.

No you carry on Maverick old boy. I enjoy your writings on the Insignia as my wife has just given me permission to get one
Its just a case of waiting for the money to come through and finding the right car.
