Default Vectra 2.0T SRi (Nov 06) - remap options?

    Evening All

Due to pick up my "new" car this week and looking into remap options. I know about BSR and a quick search seems to suggest they are quite popular on here. What other options are there that are tried and tested by you guys? I don't want to tune it to within an inch of it's life, but somewhere between 200-250 bhp is what I'm used to in previous motors (RenaultSport Megane 225, Alfa 147 GTA, Volvo V40 T5) and a slug more torque in the mid-range wouldn't go amiss.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.....

    Adam

I've got a www.TorquingBHP.co.uk remap on my 2.0T. Excellent results, and the guy who runs the company and loads the map onto your car (Darrell Coutinho) is the same guy who writes the maps. As part of the service you go for a test drive afterwards to see the difference, with Darrell in the passenger seat. If there's anything amiss, he fixes it. £350 inc VAT when I had it done last summer. The remap takes the output to 220 BHP.

Have you been on the rollers with yours jezzy?

Adam, there are plenty of options for tuning, superchips, courtenays, regal, mpg, the afore mentioned tbhp, bsr and now maptune which seems very promising but i dont think anyone has got this yet? Basically have a good read on here then depending on what is closest or what you fancy get it

Thanks both for your responses. I'll have a bit more of a read through this thread. I had a quick look at NeoBrothers for the MapTun option and also at the TBHP site but for a newbie to the specific engine in the Vectra 2.0T it's difficult to see which one I select on sites that just list SAAB tuning as their focus.

    Will keep looking!

If you want more info on the TBHP remap, call the number on their website; it'll be Darrell Coutinho that answers the phone and he'll give you all the info you want, plus he doesn't BS or exaggerate.

The Maptun remap is also supposed to be very good, but it'll be about £300 more than TBHP. One good way to decide is ask yourself if you'll need to remove the map, and put it back on (perhaps several times) for any reason. If so, you're better off with one of the devices where you load the map yourself, (BSR, Maptun) but they're almost double the price of the other type of remap (where the company do it for you and you can't remove it/reload it yourself). The exception is Bluefin from Superchips, where the device is the same price as the company-fitted remap, but unfortunately they don't produce a Bluefin for this particular engine.

The only thing i can say is do your research and don't rush into anything.Bsr stage 1 is good and maptun also seems very good but only time will tell ie feed back from other members who take that route.Remeber to read negative posts also as they may help.If you can get a custom map it will be much better than the maps you get out of a box.HTH

You know EXACTLY what you're getting with BSR Stage 1. No bull****, no hyped-up claims and a quality product. As for some of the other tuners, there is such a thing as false economy. You get what you pay for.

What's that claim based on fella? I take it you've seen rolling road results for TBHP, Superchips, Maptun?
