Default poor response from window switches

Been on my to-do list for the last month. People in the back could not open the windows and the boss could not get the passengers buttons/boot release to work.

Took out all the switches and dismantled down to plastic membrane and circuit board level – came apart really easily.

Sprayed everything with contact cleaner (with pipe & brush attachment) and it has worked fab – all switches now working like new.

Well worth doing. Did it ages ago but lack of use does not help things

I have the same problem due to lack of use on all but my drivers controls. A lot of us seem to have this problem, but in all the cars ive owned the vectra is the only car that does it lol.

I sprayed the switches without opening up the last time, lazy way of doing things.

Opened them up this time and I think it may last longer. Good contact cleaner is not cheap

I’m feeling positive that we may actually get a summer this year.

in the past I have probably put a lot of cr@p into the switches with the dash polish spays

Stripped my passenger switch set apart last summer and cleaned up the board and rubber keypad with contact switch cleaner and now it's gone again!!, think I need to get it apart again and another clean up , failing that a new switch.

Just done mine again this morning, only took a few minutes, took longer to work out where the two metal clips sat as they fell off when I took it apart LOL.
