    Default Locking wheel nut issue

Hi just got a flat tyre, got all nuts undon then when i went to undo the locking wheel nut the key for it cracked on the outside making it impossible to remove, so had to drive home and keep stopping to pump up tyre using a foot pump, not happy....
Does anyone know if i can get a replacement key i have the box for it but dont know where to find the code. Are they expensive?

Can't belive it, got my new key for the locking wheel nut today (£30 for just the key), went to take wheel off and still cant get it off, now ive damaged the new key, so that was a waste of money. does anyone know how to get them off without the key, mine has a spinning sleeve around it.

    hello mate

i supose it depends on how much damage there is

last resort would be to cut spinning washer off and try and chisel it out

or get hold of a compressor gun weld the nut remover on in place and do it that way.......

or get a lad who drives one of them bad ass corsa's with blacked out windows to get it off for £20

I did the same last year The key chewewd up enough that I just could not free it up as it just kept slipping.
I tried round all the local garages and got nowhere
I found this company on the internet.........
    http://www.lockingwheelnutremover.co...exEnglish.html
Very helpful and I was pretty desperate that I made the 130 mile round trip up the A1. The guy used my chewed up locking key and there impact driver....2 blows with a lump hammer and voila, it was free. He didn't even charge me as he didn't need to use one of their special soft blank locking keys that mould to any locking bolt
They may be able to point you to someone local that they have supplied the equipment to, worth a call.

I paid £50 plus vat just two days ago to have mine removed by a mobile tyre company..costs the same for one nust as it does for 4 nuts... got em all removed and bought a new set of genuine vm locknuts and key in its box for £14 of ebay.

after one nut went and the yey rounded off i thought i would not risk keeping them and just get a new set...

Sounds like people forget the golden rules when it comes to locking wheel nuts: NEVER let garages/tyre fitters etc near them - remove them before you go to a garage, and replace with the standard nut. Plus replace them every 2 years at the latest - the older they are, the more likely that the key will break or round off or whatever.
