Default Heater on 4 and wet n/s carpet

When i bought the Vectra, the dealer told me the carpet was wet and the drain hole had now been cleared. However, the car mists up, the fan only works on 4 and the recirculation button doesn't light up or make any noise when i press it.
I've had a read about on here and i'm not that techy, but would a new heater resistor and pollen filter cure this? Not sure on recirculation button though

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers
    Paul

Yep new resistor needed mate, out of interest what setting were you trying to use the recirc button on as iirc it only works on certain settings

That now is ok, the recirc didn't work on the screen setting, thanks for the heads up.

However, all side windows misted up like crazy tonight when i had passengers inIs it just because my carpet is wet or do you think the pollen filter needs looking at?

    Cheers again.

Check the filter but you need to dry the carpet out as well. As already said you also need a new resistor pack for the heater fan to work correctly.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Cheers.
I've just checked the filter, it's dry but mucky and full of bits.
I keep towelling the carpet and leaving the doors open when i can. Is there any better way of drying it out?

I intend to buy a new resistor pack off e-bay rather than a repair to mine. What are peoples thoughts on a repaired resistor?

    Thanks.

leave your a/c on for a week to suck the moisture from the carpet and if it isn't raining the windows slightly open if its sunny to let the damp out

There is a better way of drying your carpet paul,if you have access to a dehumidifier, push the front seats back as far as they go,and stand the dehum in your car and it will dry like lightning..hope this helps.

    79p fix works a treat.

PS you cleaned the drain away to stop this happening again?

Thanks for all advise. Yes, drain is clear, but i'll get a new pollen filter. I don't have a dehumidifier, but i'll leave a/c on and at the moment it's sunny so doors are open.

    Cheers everyone.
