Default Taking Power Outlets off Ignition?

Ok, I have a DVD with twin screens in the rear, however, the power outlet it runs from (front or rear) are both on igntion. So everytime I switch of the engine, the dvd resets.

What is the easiest way to re-wire this so it is always on?

Also, I put LED sidelight bulbs in the front, but what Do I need to do so the computer doesnt keep telling me there is a bulb out on each side? Due to the low current of the LEDs?

    Regards,

    Chris

not sure on the sidelights im afraid matey, but as for the dvd players...
i don't actually think there is any way to have the dvd players continue to run whilst switching (either on or off) the ignition.
You will notice that it happens on all the cars electrics, when you go from stage 2 (car electrics on, but not engine) of ignition barrel to stage 3 (actually turning the engine over) as there is a break in power as the engine pulls the power from the battery.

The only way i could think of doing it would be to run a direct feed from the battery to the dvd players, then install a switch in the circuit so that you can turn on or off when your in the car...i think this should work, but there may still be a drop in power when the engine turns over... not ideal....
plus the fact that if you ever forget to turn off the switch then you'll drain the battery, probably enough to ruin it.

It Doesnt Switch Off when going from Ignition on to Starting the Engine, I just want it like the Fords (I noticed the other day in my van while charging my phone) the power is always there, keys or no keys.

aahh, i see. i read it wrong.
i didn't realise the fords did that... strange setup for any modern car that.
From what you've said you just need to get a constant live feed from the battery. but if the dvd players stay in 'standby' when the car is off then they will drain the battery.

Im aware of that, but I just get annoyed having to leave my keys in the car while charging my phone etc! Where is the best place to take this feed from, as I'd rather not have loads of wires coming from the battery, could I take it from the Headunit constant feed?

There is a thread on here somewhere about the sidelights (LED ones) but from memory I think you have to put a resistor in the live wire

I made my rear cig socket permanent live. All I did was rewire it from a spare positive feed in the fuse box (n/s/r panel in boot), put an inline fuse in, and then i drilled a hole in the body just above the fuse box for the earth lead. Easy peasy and now the movie doesn't go off whenever I stop the engine. Use heavy duty automotive cable, that way it will cope with everything you throw at it. If you want a little wiring diagram doing and a 'how to', send me a PM. Unfortunately, you're a bit far away, or I would have done it for you
