Damn car......how much more will it cost me?????
Right, I'm gonna have a rant/moan/get stuff off my chest type whinge!
Now, don't ge me wrong................I love(d) my Signum until it all went pear shaped just b4 Christmas, when the alternator went. Comnmon thing I know, so begrudgingly forked out £235 for the rapair which lasted a day!!!!!
Cue car back in the garage for 3 days whilst they sort out the kn@ckered diodes they'd missed!
All good until early/mid January when a dark country lane and a ford (crossing thru water type, not the car!) plus snow melt water = deeper than expected crossing due to the massive dip in the middle even though the depth gauge stated about 18 inches!
Recovery back home thanx to the 4th emergency service due to hydraulic lock!!!!
Not happy. Own fault. Shellm out £830 for head gasket, rebuild, water pump, cam bet and kit, thermostat etc etc and all that goes with!
Car comes back, slightly iffy on cold start BUT no warning light -Suspect glowplug maybe.
Goes back to garage, NFF
Car soldiers on for 6 weeks, still not happy but flicking the IGN a few times cures the cold start problem for now until I can ahve a look.
All of a sudden, warning light comes on, limp home mode, somethings happening. Fumes in cabin sporadically, chuffing from EGR area. Not good/healthy/expected!
Ring garage, due to be picked up yesterday (Thurs 4th March). Car soldiers on - just!
Diag from the garage today.
DPF filter gone/clogged.
EGR heat exchanger borked
2x Injecters - No 2 & 4 high return rate (£75 to test) and possibly screwed too!
So here we go again, another 1k at least to repair on a car worth 5-6K
I'm fed up and WILL NEVER BUY A VAUXHALL AGAIN!!!!!
Oh, it's a 55 plate Design, 19 CDTi 8v.
