Default idle problem when warmed up (3.2 v6)

I've recently got a prblem with my 3.2 sri (53)

When the car warms up it begins to hunt on idle then the warmer it gets the higher the revs go up to about 1500rpm

When it's been on for a while it'll rise to 1600rpm then suddenly drop to 1k then start to rise again.

It's only done this since i changed my plugs at the weekend and i've doubled checked all vacums

any pointers to what it could be

    cheers in advance

    Hello mate

I'm not sure whether the idle is controlled by an idle valve on these engines or by the throttle butterfly.

Either way, grab some carb cleaner and give the valve or butterfly a good clean. If there is a valve (someone here will confirm i'm sure) then make sure you oil it up with some 3 in 1 oil to stop it sticking.

cheers i'll try that. I'm quite sure they don't have ICV as it's fly by wire.

I'll try some cleaner but as it only happens when it's up to running temp it might not slove the problem.

    cheers

Mine stopped after I took of the intake plenum and then removed the black plenum under that, It had a Vacume hose that had worn and was hanging on by its teeth Replaced and Idle was fine at 600.

Was this worn vacuum hose inside the black plenum, or somewhere else?
