Good evening my fellow Vecta(ers) and may I say first of all what a pleasure it is do join you on this forum... ok, to the point!
Had my car serviced today (Vectra 1.9 CDTI 16v) 81K.
When I had my car returned, they hadn't reset the INSP notification, but more importantly they didn't change the V belt that they're supposed to at 80K so I phoned them up and have booked it in again for next week. What a pain.
Anyway, the place I took it to (VX independent) charge £72 per hour plus VAT. Does anyone have an idea how long it would take the garage to change this and what sort of rates are you getting on your services? I live in Berkshire so quite a pricey place.
I paid £170 today just to have the oil changed from the look of the worksheet + £1.07 for 100mls washer fluid. I knew they'd try and get me on that so I filled up this morning before they took it, but they managed to squeeze just that little bit more in. At £1.07 for 100mls, that's £53.50 for 5 litres. 10 times the price of Halfords. Anyway, would love to know what people think. If they're quite dear, I'll try and find somewhere else next week.
Thought they were supposed to check my valve clearance as well, but no sign they've done that either. Monkeys...
Last year I paid £320 for the service, new brake fluid, fuel filter, pollen filter, air cleaner element and key battery. They tried to get me on brake pads all round, but luckily I had 1 week's worth of Network Q warranty left and they were all changed under warranty. Sweet. Anyway, enough of this essay. Love to hear from you.
Ta ta bye bye.
