Another great Vectra-C weekend. Thanks to all that came, especially to those that did the whole weekend a fantastic effort, much appreciated
So the weekend kicked off (sic) on Saturday with the arrival of the Eastern Mob. Straight in the pub for a couple of Bevvies and shock/horror no TV to watch the game on! Hung around for Big Phill and dashed off to the nearest pub to watch the game which we shall say no more on Stil, a great afternoon was had by all, some nice grub in the pub over the road. After the game it was back to the pub by the hotel, joined by this time by Mrs Spikeyİ in her super clean (lol) convertible. There followed a smashing evening on the benches outside where more food was consumed, especially by Duvet Boy (Plasma) who never seems to stop eating!
On to Sunday morning, talking point of the day, Duncan's smash, hope your feeling ok mate and the bus is back on the road soon.
With everyone ready to go off we went to find a garage to fill Phill's GSi up, pulled in and Mark the cabby was immediately approached by a gentlman of the constabulary! He was a bit worried until the officer said 'nice wheels mate' and off he went. Got back on the road and started the convoy up to Builth. Low and behold the heavens decide to open and on with the wipers...I'm leading, phone goes off, Plasma, "might have to stop mate, my new super dooper Aero Twin wiper blade's falling off", running repairs duely done at a set of traffic lights.
A nice, 'spirited' run up the A470 follows with a little drama just past the Brecon's where we were all waiting to overtake an Fronters doing about 20mph, car coming the other way flashes so we all slow down, round the next corner is a nice shiny white van with a camera sticking out off the top, thanks to the guy for the flash or there could have been 5 tickets on the way!
The sun was back out by the time we reached the meeting point and ice creams were the first order of the day courtesy of Mrs Spikeyİ. Scan099 and Jonno arrived and we waited for Jamie to turn up, by 1 o'clock there was no sign so a quick phone call and we arranged to meet him at the main meeting place. Got down there and immediately got the picnic going, again thanks to Mrs Spikeyİ, but do the eggs a bit longer next time babe
Eventually Jamie arrived and the Vectra-C pit crew swung into action fitting his new wheels brought up a wheel to a car by the rest of us You'll never beat Ferrari guys but a good job done none the less
Bit worried about getting a shot of the cars all together as people had parked all over the place, but just as we were about to head off things fell into place and we quickly got them lined up for a few shots.
It was quite funny watching everybody playing with their Sat Navs working out their routes home, though I think Mark The Cabby needs more training on his as he promptly led the convoy down a dead end
I nearly missed my turning and think I might have thrown Jonno off course as he couldn't make the turn lol, sorry mate!
To sum up, had a great weekend, met a new face (Jonno) and caught up with some of the gang, anyway, enough of my waffle, here's the pics:
