Sudden power loss at 4500rpm, Vectra 2.2Direct

Hi.

I have noticed that when i give it a bit of boot and take it up to about 4500 - 5000rpm, I get a very sudden drop in power, almost feels like the engine has dropped out! It is running fine at all other times and there are no EM lights on or anything.

I feel like it is elctrical, the spark plugs should be fine as they have recently been changed with the service.
Any ideas, greatly appreciated!

I hope its not youre fuel pump, I have a feeling it willl be and you'll be on limp mode then, a new fuel pump is around £375 and they like to change the pressure regulator at the same time. I found out about this just after i bought mine. There is a watchdog story all about this problem.

Oh great! Yes, sounds very similar.
Just seen the watchdog clip. Will be on the phone to VX 2moro to see if they'll contribute to any costs...... Not likely!!
