Just fitted my HIDs today, very impressed, actually safe to drive now.

    Phew.

Otherwise, its very much suck it and see with different bulbs, they may perform differently on one car compared to another, as i found out. Ended up spending more on bulbs than i would have done just buying a HIDs kit in the first place.

    Again would recommend HID's.
However if you are definitly opposed to them then I'd recommend Osram Nightbreakers as the brightest, although they are white, not blue. If you can live with losing some brightness then try Xtec white-blue bulbs, they aren't that bright but have the colour you're looking for.

Again I must point out that the difference from standard to uprated halogens is nothing compared to the difference from uprated halogens to HIDs.

I fitted these last weekend (the 4300k kit):

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...=STRK:MEWNX:IT

They are superb! The Osram Nightbreakers I had in before, while better than the standard bulbs, are like candles in comparison.

By the way, they work fine with no bulb warnings, flickering etc., even without the supplied warning canceller. Cut off is very sharp and despite the brightness I haven't had anyone flashing me at night.

    Just one more thing...

If you are going to get HIDs (which you really should), get the 4300k or 6000k IMO. Don't go for 8000k etc. as they are obviously aftermarket, won't help you actually see at night, and will get you pulled.

My 4300k ones look just like the bi-xenons fitted to traffic cop Vectras.
