Took some close-up pics today showing the damage from my accident yesterday. I'm pretty confident there's not enough damage to be even near write-off territory - but always happy to have any input.
Here's the suspension/wishbone area - taken the best I could squeezing a camera in between the wheel. You can see where the driveshaft has popped out of the gearbox.
On the second picture where the red circled bit is, that part of the wishbone looks like it is twisted a bit. I can't see where any of the sub-frame has suffered anything.
Front wing and door. I don't think the door has suffered at all. Just a bit of paint scraping on the very edge where the wing has nicked it as it's pushed past the door and where the side repeater has scraped a bit as it was pushed into it. Took the side repeater off for the shot to show it better.
Side skirt is obviously a gonner.
Is there potential damage lurking behind here that could be a nasty suprise?
The strut mounts. This is the offside - the undamaged side.
Nearside - damaged side. It looks like the strut has moved a bit in the mount - as the damper has obviously been pushed outwards underneath. I can't see any creasing of the metal around the strut, so I don't think there is anything there to worry about? Should I be looking from underneath for anything that I'm not aware off?
Bit of panelling behind the bumper and under the wing - but I think that is easily replaceable?
Headlight doesn't even seem to be damaged. Not cracked or moved as far as I can see. All due, I reckon, to the way I hit him after managing to take some evasive action given the space between him and the oncoming vehicle. As said in my other thread, it was more of a glancing blow.
Any input/thoughts welcome. Any other areas I should be looking at to check for damage? I can't think of any potential 'nasty surprises' but any input most welcome.
