    Default unusual tyre wear

Have just had MOT,car passed, guy said both front tyres have worn on the inside. I had tracking done last year and had it checked straight after MOT, all ok.

The tyres on the front are Khumo usually a good tyre, but at 90 quid each for 215/50/17 i really want to get this problem, if that is what it is, sorted out. tyres have done about 10000 miles and have been on the front of the car for about a year and a half.

i drive pretty sensibly, I do tow a caravan however about 2 times a year, once being to france covering a 1000 miles, could that cause it?

I am worried that it could be a rubber bush somewhere, but happenng to both sides is weird! any ideas?

It'll be the geometry settings, they are either incorrect are you have worn suspension parts, but as its passed an MOT they can't be that bad, so it may need a 4 wheel geometry setup (like a Hunter system).

Tracking is only making sure all 4 wheels are pretty much pointing in the right direction, the geometry setup checkes and adjusts the camber/toe in/out settings too.

I also have Kumho tyres on mine and the inside edge were odd. I took mine to have the 4 wheel alignment done at Imperial Tyres in Swindon and was told the wheels are chopping.

Alot of garages cant do proper 4 wheel alignment, first place I went to said I had to have new tyres.

Not really mate, all you will do is make the insides more firm. I run my 17's at 38 and they wear perfectly even. Have you lowered it at all? The rear of the sri's are cambered quite a bit but the fronts sit perfectly verticle to the eye. What do yours look like.?
