My first Vectra C Diesel ....

Aloha ... Right I have a little issue with my vectra .....

Its a new shape ( 02 ) diesel and I have the following problems with it .....

The engine management light comes on after 3000 revs and or over 75mph ... ONTOP of that there's ton's of black smoke coming out from the exhaust as-well .... but not when you drive it sensibly .. Also it struggles to get some speed on hills .... Anyone had any of these problems before?

is your car a 1.9cdti 120 bhp or 150bhp or is it a 2.0 or 2.2 dti

how many miles has it got on and any recent repair work been carried out and any service history cheers hope we can help but need more info

02 So it will be a DTi 1st thoughts were EGR but it might be boost related eg:check pipes to turbo for splits or holes
failing that get codes read far simpler to diag when we have a code HTH

It has 160,000 miles and its chain driven .. I check the oil everyday and its all sweet ... No recent work been carried lately but I did consider taking it into vauxhall for a check up but then after asking them it looked like more of arse raping ... I think the turbo pipe is metal ? the 1 that goes straight through the engine to the turbo unless I got the wrong pipe in mind?

Ok have found the problem .. I think .. The plastic pipe leading from what I think is the air intake has a big fat rip underneath .. Now that leads to the turbo .. Could that be the reason why its chucking out so much fumes over 50mph and engine management light coming on .. please help !!!!
