Default Front Splitter with Car Lowered

I'm looking for some advise. I've a 2.2dti sri with jamex lowering springs on so the car sits low. I was thinking about adding a front splitter but an worried about it getting smashed or ripped off. When I go over speed bumps I can hear the black plastic splitter rub.

Has anybody much experience of this and with speed bumps, kerbs etc.
Is there any flex in the splitters or do they just shatter when hit?

What do you think? Would I be better keeping it the way it is?

Really depends on what splitter ya get, An irmy one will take a slight rub or knock but a fibreglass copy will probably shatter

if you hear scraping now it would be a waste of money buying a splitter imho as i doubt it would last long

Bear in mind that the Irmy splitter (or copy) actually sits higher off the ground than the standard lip that is on at the moment. (if yours is SRi that is)

I'm guessing the Signum Design has the Vectra SRi splitter trim thing - mine takes a bashing from going down country roads, but not from speed bumps, and that's just with the SRi suspension.

Thanks guys but still can't decide.
I'd like to buy a copy one as I don't think I am justify am Imy one but I have a feeling it wouldn't last long. Is it possible to reinforce them in behind.

Possibly but it would probably still crack if hit, Does your current rubber splitter rub?

Yeah the current rubber one rubs all the time.
On the way on work one morning with snow there was a track of snow in the middle of the lane and it rubbed all the way - snow plough!!

I bought a copy on ebay... polish seller and they were £59 plus post.

I have standard SRi set up and no problems with speed humps etc. I did come off one a bit to quick once and I heard a scrape but it had just taken a pea size lump out and it did get whacked

Having dropped your car I would say it would only be a matter of time before you ripped it off

If you had a normal ride height I would say do it as it makes the car look great.
