instant consumption gone weird!

Hi all, for some reason my trip/instant consumption funtion has suddenley gone haywire..it reads a constant variable of 1 to 999mls to the gallon!!

I reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery overnight and same problem.The reset/stalk functions work as they should and every other function works...

Any ideas??

yes it instant... whats the problem? it reachts on how you use the throttel..

the disploay varies between wildly differenf figures that cannot possibly be accurate.

I've had her for a little over two years and during that time the readout has obviously varied,depent upon driving style but at the weekend it went awol..BIG TIME!!

sure your not thinking of the average consumption. Instant will vary up to 999mpg. did on my old car, and on the new one. Sounds normal to me
