Default Should I Have CD70 In My Car?

hiya folks. went on Parkers.co.uk earlier and went to the equipment page for the Vectra. i've got a 53 Vectra SRi LPG NAV. it says on Parkers that i should have the CD70, but i actually have the NCDC2013. does this seem right?

Parkers lie - the CD70 came in on the Full CANBUS cars at around 54/05 plate mate. The car is right, the website is wrong...

If in doubt though, check your steering wheel controls. You should have 3 buttons on each side. If you had Full CANBUS, you'd have 2 scroll wheels each side...

    As Martin correctly states...

    NCDC2013 or NCDC2015 upto September 2004 - Half-Canbus

CD70 Navi from October 2004 - Full Canbus

    Parker's are totally wrong

from my experience of having the CD70 nav for the last 2 years you'd be better off with a tom tom! the CID is very nice but that's about the extent of it.

All the Vectras are Canbus, but the earlier (non-CD70) ones are known as 'half-canbus' due to the number of systems they monitor (I believe).

As above, I dont think you'd get anything more from the expense of getting the CD70 and screen - a tom tom and a seperate head unit are a better combination if you don't like the one that's in there...

In my opinion, you wont gain better maps with a CD70!
You only gain free TMC - Traffic Info and auto re-routing.

You only have 1 cd in cd70, but multi cd changer in the ncdc 2013

Neither radio has better maps, and neither is more reliable than the other.

    Personally, I would do this...

Put an after-market double din unit with DVD and GPS Sat Nav built in...you could get a very good one for the price of a CD70.
Retain your CID for information purposes - Chech control, BC and time, temp etc.

Most sat nav maps and camera up dates are available for a lot less money than Vauxhall Opel's Navteq disks.
Infact you can get unlimited camera and poi updates from pocketgpsworld (which are updated every two weeks), for approx £19 per year.

Note Vauxhall Navteq disks don't get audible warnings, and it is very difficult to change poi information.

Regarding Can you fit a CD70..yes you can with some wiring modification, but unless you're strange like me....I wouldn't waste your time and money.
