    Default Problems!!

Hey guys, just a few things, would be grateful for some inside knowledge.

    • on my way home tonight, i noticed my car was idleing at 1100rpm instead of the usual 800-900rpm
    • pulled over and tried restarting the engine, engine started very very rough but idle dropped back down
    • wen starting i noticed the spanner light and "check engine" light stayed on until engine was running
    • got home then tried restarting it agen, wouldnt start :-(
    • also the ABS light came on for 2 seconds while turning car round at bottom of my road.
any advice would be great, its still within its warranty luckily

Could be the start of alternator issues (with the lights and EML etc).

But the running issues could be swirl/EGR related.

Depends, as its under warranty get it back and get them to check it over.

Alternator and EGR faults can be quickly rectified, swirl faults require new inlet manifold, it just depends whats at fault.

Looking likely for the swirl/EGR then.

Check to see if the swirl rod is attached... there's a pic on here, let me find it.......

There you go, 3rd pic down shows the silver bar clearly, see if yours hasn't fallen off.

Prices vary from £600 - £1000, so having a warranty is very handy
