This is my dad's Vitara which he bought last year. It's on a 57 plate and the previous owner had looked after it really well with not even one parking dent anywhere! The paintwork was also in pretty good condition but did suffer with some swirls and holograms.
Since having my DA in December, I was keen to give it the works and finally managed it the weekend whilst dodging the wonderful Welsh weather!
First time i've used my new site lights too and what a difference they made in finding defects in the paint. And i'm getting the knack of capturing the paint defects on camera too.
The process I used was:
Very Cherry Wheel Cleaner, agitated with a brush then pressure washed off. (Alloys in need of refurb)!
APC all the door shuts, agitated with a brush then pressure washed off.
Snow Foam, rinse, 2 bucket wash then clayed. (1 and a half bars)!!
Meguiars #83 Cleaner Polish using a 3" orange hex pad and Kestral DA.
Chemical Guys Wet Mirror Finish on a 3" red hex pad and also 7" Megs polishing pad on larger areas.
Megs 7" Finishing pad for final buffing.
Megs #16 Glaze.
Dodo Juice Red Mist Tropical for added beading.
Auto Valet Protectant on all plastics and under arches.
Smartwax Rim Wax on alloys.
Meguiars Endurance High Gloss Tyre Gel.
More than happy with the results and all comments welcome, good or bad.
Cheers guys.
No protection at all.
The finished article!
And to finish off, I put a Suzuki sticker on the spare wheel cover that he wanted for a while. Now the bizzare thing is, that Suzuki apply the name to the spare wheel covers only on the diesel models, not the petrol models!
The local main dealers will sell you the letters but at £70 + VAT!!! So off to the local printers...........that'll be £5! Thanks very much.
Thanks again guys,
Paul.
