Do i not need 2 12v power suply for the aftermarket head unit?

Is there any way to get the stereo working the way the standard fit units do? (On and off with ignition and also being able to turn on when the key is out).

    Then you have to

1 perm live from eg. the glovebox light
1 ing live from eg the cig lighter..

    Then it should be okay.

SSunder has a 2005 full canbus radio...
It will not have an ignition live on the radio.

There is a permanent live though on pin 15 (red)
Ignition live is usually taken from the Cig lighter connector - black wire.

Personally, I don't think that there is a facility to have ignition logic on/off control in a non vauxhall OEM radio.

    Yes for all newbies,

Full Canbus started in October 2004 (54 plate)...the main difference being that before that date all stereos had ISO connectors with 36 pins and an ignition live.
Radios have model codes CCR, CDR,NCDC and NCDR.

After that date, the radios had a 40 pin Quadlock connector, and the canbus system controlled the ignition live, multi-timer controller and other radio functions including back lighting etc. Radios after that date have codes CC20, CD30, CDC40,CD50,CD70 Navi and DVD models.

I fitted a new Kenwood with no problems at all. '55 facelift, just used the steering control cables.
