    confused Hesitiation/flat spot 2007 V6 CDTi

It was all looking so rosy...

Having done 8000 miles in my 2007 Signum 3.0 V6 CDTi which now has 90K on the clock recently had the Cambelt replaced and full service carried out by Marshalls of Leicester. Watched the entire thing, very hayppy with the work done.

However, since then I've found a slight problem. When accelerating (mainly noticeable in third but it happens in second and fourth too) it powers up finew through 2000rpm but shortly afterwards you feel it hit a sort of flat spot up till around 3000rpm when it pulls away again like a train. The exact figures vary each time I try it, and if I downshift into third into the middle of the above range and accelerate then it doesn't occur. I have no recollection of this happening before the work was carried out, but I can't see what could cause it that they've done apart from possibly the fuel system cleaner. However, I've done 1200 miles since the service which totals 2 1/2 tanks of fuel so it should have easily gone through by now.

My only suspicion is the way I've been driving. For 300 miles prior to the service and for 1200 since then all it's really done is sit at 70mph on cruise control on the motorways. There will be occasional forrays in to the higher rev ranges for overtaking or slip roads, but I'd say about 90-95% of the mileage has been at 70. I suspect this could have caused a build up of soot inside the engine somewhere and would also be the cause of the very regular DPF regenerations it's been doing (at least once per tank).

I have only run it on BP Ultimate with no additives apart from the treatment VX put in.

A quick search has brought up the ideas of either being the EGR sticking or possibly the SVC's being on their way out. There have been no trouble codes, no lights, and apart from these symptoms the engine is running sweet as a nut. It may just need a good thrashing too...

Thoughts anyone...? I'd rather not have to take it back to them as it's an hour and a half away and almsot any trouble shooting will invoke labour costs of taking stuff apart as there's no light and no codes...

Variable vanes on the turbo sticking? Could be coked up I guess. Mine did this but only after it had been sat for a week and soon cleared itself after a short blast.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I'm considering some EGR cleaner which would (I imagine) get rough the whole system and according to testimonials on here works very well... I need to find somewhere to let it warm up then thrash it a bit for a while I think...

Worth a try! Hopefully its not a sticky injector or something that may require a tech 2 session
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I just find it odd that it's suddenly started happening after the service in which they may have updated the ECU software. However, 1500 miles at 70mph may also be a possible cause...

Could it be for an economy upgrade/emmisions reduction while sat at cruising speed?

Would something like that be related to the EGR valve then possibly...? It certainly feels like something is sticking then freeing up after sufficient flow is achieved...

Not sure tbh, but the EGR is only open at a set throttle position.

Hi mate get the wynns intake cleaner and spray it into the turbo while someone revs the car. This might help. Had to take mine off and send to turo tecnics to get cleaned. Made all the difference.

Will it run with the hose off the turbo? Or does it just put the fault light on as the maf is seeing nothing??
