    Default changing o3 vectra steering whell help

    ok noob needs help i just took off my steering wheel from the 03 sri and i want to put it in my 03 1.8ls thought would be the same conections but on the sri ther is one wire going into airbag and on the ls ther is 2 is it a case of unpluging and changing the wires aswell as the wheel?

    The air bags are different so you need to change the lot over to fit iirc.

    If its even possible - I cannot remember - then yes the wires and everything as I think the airbag is a different shape? If its not then just swap them out of the wheels.

    just tried getting the wire out but seems to be stuck. air bag is diff as it a 3 spoke im putting in and a 4 spoke coming out. would it be possible to just plug the one wire into the air bag and leave the other free? seems to be my only option but dont want a airbag fault on dash :/

    Its not worth the risk of not connecting it up correctly as it will probably show up a fault and/or fail to deploy or go off at a random point.

    anyone else have sugestions same here are the pictures first one is for sri 03 i want to put on showing it only has one slot for one cable, and the other is an example of whts in the 1.8 03.

    also in second picture i scribbled out the wire so to show wht the sri air bag wiring looks like with the one cable out

    Can we see the front of the second please mate? I'm sure the twin plugs came in on the full canbus cars which an 03 wouldn't have been. Need to see the front of it to confirm...

    Basically one is a single stage airbag and the second is a twin stage. Both are different in terms of design internally, and the cim unit,(steering column module) and more than likely the complete system, You will have to find the same as whats in yours they are not interchangable.
