    Default Poor Starting

I have 1.9 120bhp, 2006, had poor starting and was advised to change the glow plugs. Have done this with no effect on starting, dont get me wrong I start ok on the first try, but it feels like its struggling a bit rather than catching straight away. I am now thinking some sort of fuel problem, new filter or something. Anybody had similar starting problems? How did you sort it?

we have 2 zafira Z19DT 120 hp with starting problem. Whan the car has been standing for more that 2 hours then the engine starts after being cranked about 5-10 sec. Feels like the cilinders are firing up one at a time until the engine starts. We have found no trouble codes, cam timing is OK, cranshaft speed sensor has been replaced, glow plugs and glow plug control unit is OK. No solution yet

Yes, Thats the same as mine. A mate has suggested giving it a shot of Redex, so going to try that and then perhaps clean boost sensor and EGR. If still the same, a new fuel filter. Let us know how you get on.

Your update could have nailed it. Timing ould be out and this would make sense. Look forward to hearing how you get on. I will contact stealers to get estimate on checking timing and belts.

Hope it's helped mate. I also hope due to the odd nature of this issue it's something that will be covered on warranty, other than that, f*** knows how much it's gona rob me....

I contact the local stealers and they quote me £41 to do a diagnostic, they will contact me before any work is done. They will deduct the £41 from final bill if more work is required. I might go for this and see what they come up with.

Seems fair... hope there's not too much to be done!!

the only ace in the hole I have is the p*** poor service I've had so far! Lack of callbacks, being cut off, staff not knowing who each other are, not to mention whos car theyve got, what's up with it or who I even am... well that's gotta be worth a few quid off at least!!

I put Redex in the tank and filled up. It did start a bit better but the temp has not been as low in the mornings, so not convinced problem solved. Will strip out EGR and Boost Sensor and give a clean. If no better then I think the stealers are next.
