when i control the drivers side mirror it works fine but also controls the passenger mirror is the suppose to happen as seems a bit weird to me.

Yep, supposed to happen. All mentioned in the handbook.

You're supposed to set up one mirror first, then the other - tells you which one to do first in the handbook.

Then if you want to lower the mirror to aid parking, you can lower both at the same time.

oh dave just one more thing i read the manual and set up the auto lock but when ya stop it only unlocks the drivers door and way u can get it to unlock all

Yes, you need to change the fob setting so that it unlocks all the doors with one push. On the same page as the autolocking feature.
