    Default What baby seat?

I have been in mothercare this morning with my expectant wife looking at Prams or travel systems as they are now called and baby seats. Found the pram we were both happy with and tried the supplied baby seat in the wifes corsa first which we had no probs with. When we come to try it in the Vec it could not go in the front because of the airbag and in the back it would not sit properly on the seat and the seat belt was really tight going around it. I enquired about the ISOfix seats but when the girl from mothercare looked for the ISOfix fittings all we found was clips behind the seat, are some further fittings required before I can fit ISOfix seat? Can someone please advise me on what seats to go for as I cant face going back to mothercare on a sat morning again LOL. Thanks

Here's a suggestion - why not try Halfords - they have a pretty good range and are normally more than happy to let you loose with a variety of differet seats, and give you a hand fitting then too. Added bonus of this is you can also spend a happy half hour trotting round browsing waxes and polises for your Veccy too!!!!

How about a cool Recaro seat for the little 'un!?!?!

we had the problem that most of the standard baby seats bought from halfords, mothercare etc, would not sit right in the back of the vec due to the deeper bucket type seats, in the end we got the vauxhall one which was perfect, but mothercare do one that fits ok, and is rear facing and converts to forward facing when the littl'un is old enough, wish we had seen that before we spent a fortune. the MC one cost around £130

I enquired about retro fitting the isofix fittings but seeminly it cant be done

We have just bought the Maxi cosi cabrio, bought it from the pram centre in glasgow and it had a good safety rating etc from the 'which' reviews

    Expensive business this baby stuff

We had or rather still have a Britax seat from when Mel had her Corsa but aswell as you found that what fits a Corsa won't fit the Vectra due to the deep bucket type seat. As for the ISOfix I thought the fixxings on the seat slide under the back cushion & lock into place, I may be wrong as we never tried an ISOfix seat,
We ended up getting a Maxi Cossi after trying a few & it was the best fitting by far as it has a clamp which pushes bak on the seat belt to pull it into the seat even tighter.

Unfortunantly both the Britax & Maxi are both forward facing seats as Kayleigh's two so not realhelp for you I'm affraid. I'd try a baby equipment retailer rather than the larger stores like Halfords or Mothercare, we got told they wouldn't fit the seat for our homewards journey, it was down to us, the unexperienced ones to do that & put our child at risk as we don't know how to fit the seat.
