Please HELP - Car Won't Start (Vectra C)

Model: 2005 3.2 V6 Vectra GSi
Transmission: Auto
Odo: 41 000km

Try to start the car today and it just did not start. Everything was fine yesterday and until now all services have been completed.

The car tries to start but just can't. I noticed that it is very close to starting, especially when you turn the key for 3-5 seconds. First thought was a battery, but I don't think thats the case. Maybe a faulty starter motor, spark plugs?

Also noticed on ignition, all lights go out except for the "Emissions" light. In the Holden (in Aus) handbook it states that a emission system service may be required.

Any help please? Not sure where to go from here.

could be the battery as if it drops below a certain voltage it wont let the car even try to start, then it could be fuel problem, sensors (crank or cam) really could be anything, probably electrical though

immobiliser perhaps,try locking the car and unlocking it again,it could be anything at this moment in time,so thats is just a guess.

Called the mechanic out. It was just a flooded (fuel) motor. He said it happens when the car is moved a few meters and turned off, so the fuel builds up. Didn't charge anything either, so very happy. Everything is all good again.

This sounds like the same sort of problem as mine. I hope it's something simple too! Although how did they explain WHY it flooded? I don't think it's normal for a car to flood simply because it's been moved a few metres...
