    Default Rear Brake Pads

My mate works at a garage and as a 'foreigner' was going to change my rear discs and pads, the fool only ordered the wrong pads, but insists he didnt. He said there is a clip missing off the set he bought. My vectra is a 1.8 2004 SRI with the standard alloys. Is there a variety of pads available? Help wanted I have an MOT friday and my brakes are no good at all.

The design of the rear pad spring clips changed a few years ago. As long as there for 278mm disks they will be fine.

I think my first set had a spring on the back that went into the piston and the second set have a spring on the top and not on the back. Both have been fine with some copper slip.

Were the ones with spring on top the modified ones? as I seem to remember reading somewhere that there were revised/ modified pads to stop a clicking/ clunking noise when shunting the car backwards and forwards.

Someone would have to confirm as i cant remember but the piston pad has two little nipples to fit into the matching piston face, same holes as the rewind tool fits into, the piston only winds in, it comes out withought spining. Sorry for any poor grammer or is it grammar?, im on my phone at the mo lol
