    Vehicle : Jaguar XF 3.0D V6

    Trim : Black

    Engine : 3.0D V6

    Year : 0000

    Default New tyres

Had 4 new tyres fitted today.

As I may be getting rid of it soon (if funds become available) I couldn't justify fitting branded tyres, so fitted the cheapest I possibly could find.

OK, not great, but considerably better than the slicks that have been removed.

As Quik Fit is literally 100m up the road I called in and asked what their cheapest possible price was.

£540. I nearly fell over. After I said no thanks, he asked me what the best quote I had was.

So for 4 tyres fitted and balanced, with new valves including VAT, on a car that's now done 135,000 miles:

    £160 all in.

Ling Long. Sounds lovely, easy off the tongue.

I know thay are cheap, but why spend £400 on tyres which won't affect the cars value in anyway...

Just fitted a pair to the front last week, very happy with them, quiet, good grip in wet and snow, and for £80 a throw i now leave the coolest tracks in the snow :P

I was searching for something and found this older thread, so thought I would do an update.

The car is now on 154,000 miles - meaning these tyres have done 19,000 miles. They still have about 5mm of treads on the fronts - rears are similar.

Dry grip hasn't been a problem for me, I don't race around. Wet grip isn't the best in class, but again hasn't really been a problem.

If you like to thrash your car round the corners and do heavy braking events, then maybe you would notice the difference to a conventional branded tyre - eg Michelin. But as that isn't really my driving style, I am fairly happy with them, I've had no brown trouser moments due to loosing grip.
