I went to my local alloy wheel shop in Blackfen, kent. Called Sheer Class,said to the gentleman there im after a set on 19" alloy for me vec c, he said to me (my m8 had 19s on his vec c & they knackered his gearbox in 3 months) ,was just wondering has i dont know alot about cars & knowing vauxhall do 19s has any 1 heard ov this happening ?

he was prob trashing the nuts off the box thats why lol i wouldnt say alloys would knacker ya box

now ya tell me, mine has coped 6 months with 19's but think i'll scrap the car now just in case lol

Who is the customer here? Customer is always right, get some 19's on, heck there are Vec's/Siggys with 20's on, never heard of wheels knackering gearboxes. Coincidence more than anything I think

LOL thought it was a bit strange him saying that, even more strange was he lost a better payout for himself me thinks he,ll go bust if he keeps on like that

Anyway they come with 19" on from VX. If they did cause issues why would VX put them on their cars?

Most large alloys aren't much bigger due to having smaller walls on the tyre. Its not like your putting an extra 3" diameter wheel on!!!! 19's will be fine. I ran 17's on Fiesta before big alloys caught on. Guy warned me that they'd rub and ruin the drive. they fitted easily and never caught once!! Some car shop workers just like the sound of their own voice methinks. like to sound as if they know it when out back they drive their mom's car to works!!!
