    Default heater probs, help guys

After weeks of my heater bugging me and reading threads,i got round to it today and i dont get it. Veccy is a 1.9 CDTI 55 plate Design. Stripped out glovebox and i can see the red heat levers, so,turn it to full cold and they move, then to full hot and they move partially. If i turn to cold again, then hot and push the levers, they go all the way to hot.Turn back to cold and they move fully to cold..Try full hot again and its same partial movement.I have soaked them in wd40, to no avail. Now heres a weird thing, if i have pushed them to hot, with the dial reading 26, switch off the ignition and wait a few mins, the lever goes back to full cold, without me touching anything!!!!!, Totally baffled,,,,,,what do you guys think??? servo or control panel,

    Cheers in advance

I'd replace the servo as if they seize and free them selves up they can strip the teeth off.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I've had the glove box out earlier, eill this be the thing with the red arm? Cause when i turn from cold to hot it seems to travel for a good distance. (Clicking all the way of course!)

In the end it was a new thermostat that cured the problem, once that was changed all was toasty. My car has semi automatic climate control and i was told by the teccy's at VX that it relies on heat being in the water pipes before the heat control servo will operate to its full movement. Dunno how true that is,but it's all good now.

Was that at Perrys? I don't think replacing the thermostat on a V6 is easy/cheap so would be gutted if that didn't work. Engine still appears to run at normal temperature A bit of warm heat does come through, just not hot.

When i take the return pipe off the heater matrix at the bulkhead, coolant does run out when the engines idling, not with any venom mind you, just a trickle

no it was Moorlands in Blackpool.

that clicking might be the gears slipping due to the flap being 'stuck', maybe this thread will help.

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...light=glovebox

another thought is maybe you have an airlock in the heater hoses, i,m not to familiar with the layout of the V6, i have the 120 oil burner, LMAO
